4320: DUTIES OF THE SCHOOL BEING ACCREDITED

  1. In the year preceding the self-study work and on-site visit, allow room in your projected yearly budget for the extra expenses of transportation, hotel costs, and meals for the visiting team.
  2. Establish committees to work on the school’s self-study, and a timeline for completion.
  3. Work with the CSF VP – Accreditation to find a mutually acceptable on-site team chair. This should be done by the end of the school year preceding the self-study work.
  4. Meet with the visiting team chair within first month of school year in which on-site visit is to take place. Go over the plans and progess to date. Set a timetable for on-site visit.
  5. Reserve hotel rooms for the visiting team at a nearby hotel, one room per team member. Set aside on room on the school campus for the private use of the visiting team. Make sure that documents, handbooks, policies, and procedures are available for the visiting team. Arrange for meals and snacks for the team…a well-fed team is a happy team!
  6. The school head should double check all self-study reports to ensure that all aspects of the CSF Standards have been met.
  7. Self-study notebooks must be in the hands of team members at least two weeks before the on-site visit.
  8. Arrange for meeting times with the visiting team and Board President, with the senior pastor if the school is parochial, and school finance person.
  9. The initial meeting of visiting team and school leaders, both administrators and Board members, is often accomplished over a meal. A walk-through of the campus after the meal is very helpful for the visiting team.
  10. The school head should be available to the visiting team at all times during the on-site visit.
  11. Promptly reimburse the visiting team for expenses they have incurred during the visit.
