Accreditation Standards
 

4400: ACCREDITATION CATEGORIES



The status of accreditation is granted for a five-year period and requires that the school submit an Annual Report using designated forms to the Vice President of Accreditation before July 31 st.

  1. Definitions:

    1. Accreditated: The school has been granted initial accreditation or continued accreditation by the Board on the basis of having met the standards of the association.

    2. Accredited With Warning: The school has been given a warning by the Board for not having met one or more of the standards of the association and has been given a specific calendar and process for removing the warning. Failure to successfully remove the warning can lead to the status of Accredited With Probation.

    3. Accredited With Probation: The school has been placed on probation by the Board for a reason, which, unless corrected according to the calendar and process determined by the Board, can result in losing accredited status. Failure to successfully remove the probation can lead to the status of Accreditation Withdrawn.

    4. Accreditation Denied: The school has not been approved for accreditation by the Board at the school's first attempt for accreditation.

    5. Accreditation Withdrawn: The school is no longer accredited by the association due to one or more of the following:

      5.1 failure to satisfy the terms and conditions of a probationary warning;
      5.2

      a serious breech of conduct or policy considered by the Board to be so serious that accredited affiliation with the association is withdrawn;

      5.3

      failure to meet the standards and requirements of the association to such a degree that accredited affiliation with the association is withdrawn.


    6. Provisional Accreditation-Early Learning:  The school is granted a non-renewable two year provisional accredited status for early learning programs prior to full accreditation and for those early learning programs only, in order to assist them to participate in the Florida Voluntary Pre- K Scholarship Program under Christian Schools of Florida/FAANS/ NCPSA as provided for in Florida statutes.

  2. CSF Standards that must be met and are therefore absolute for accreditation are:

    1. All Health & Safety (Standard 6000.7)
    2. Financial security (Standard 6000.4
    3. Personnel (6000.5)
    4. Legal requirements (Including Standard 6000.7)
    5. Governance, including Mission Statement (Standard 6000.3)

  3. Violation of any CSF accreditation standard will result in “Accredited With Warning” as part of the final report. “Accredited With Warning” is assigned for up to one year. After one year the violation must be acted on or remedied. If the violation remains, then the school may receive a second one-year “Accredited With Warning” citation or “Accredited With Probation.” A school may not be placed on “Accredited With Warning” for a third consecutive year. “Accredited” status must be granted or the school will be given a designation more severe than “Accredited With Warning.”
