6000.8: GUIDANCE ANDSTUDENT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT
| 8.1 | The school must implement appropriate and valid assessments of students’ performance based on its philosophy and educational objectives, which include periodic progress reports, quarterly report cards, and annual standardized achievement tests. Documentation of individual student assessments must be on file. | |
| 8.2 | Information from standardized testing (including overall school, grade level, class, and individual norms and median scores) must be used to evaluate and guide instruction. These reports must be on file. |

| 8.3 | Grades and progress reports must be sent to parents at regular intervals. Standardized test results must be sent to parents annually. Parent conferences in grades Pre K-5 must be held annually to discuss individual student progress. | |
| 8.4 | The school must maintain follow-up information about its graduates. |

| 8.5 | Employment of a full time certified or certifiable guidance counselor is required for high schools with 300+ full time equivalent (FTE) students and a half-time counselor for high schools with 100-299 FTE students. A contracted consultant should be employed as needed for high schools with 1-99 FTE students. | |
| 8.6 | Elementary and middle schools must have a written guidance plan specifying personnel and procedures used to provide counseling services.
